Reiki for Disabled Students

It has come to my attention that disabled people are really not catered for when it comes to holistic therapies, accessing treatments and accessing courses. Many treatment rooms are upstairs (especially when they are in peoples homes). Courses are held in buildings with no wheelchair access or parking nearby.

It’s my mission to make sure these treatments and courses are available to EVERYONE. This is something I am very passionate about being disabled myself. I have years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities using arts therapies and holistic therapies. I have been employed by charities such as HEADWAY DERBY (head injuries rehabilitation), MENCAP, PETS AS THERAPY – volunteering in Rainbows Hospice. I have also worked with the Well Woman Centre, Action for Children and Brook.

I can work around your needs to make the course accessible for you. Please see my access statement below for my own house…

I can travel to your home to do the course if you have a medical condition that makes it difficult for you to leave home. I can also do a Reiki course for you if you are deaf or blind. Unfortunately I do not provide Reiki manuals in Braille but I can always record an audio version on to a cd for you. If you are deaf you are welcome to bring a BSL interpreter, I have had some deaf awareness in the past and I will make it as easy as possible for you to lip read if you can. If you think a course may be too long if you suffer from fatigue I can split it into 2 parts.  I can also teach students with learning disabilities.
